DAY 2 - MONDAY 25 SEPTEMBER 2017          
Arrive In Budapest

Welcome to Budapest, the capital of Hungary. On arrival we transfer to our hotel where the rest of the day is at leisure. This evening meet your fellow travellers and tour director for a welcome cocktail.

DAY 3 - TUESDAY 26 SEPTEMBER 2017
Budapest

Facing each other across the Danube River, the former cities of Buda and Pest are linked by a series of beautiful bridges. Today we’ll take an extensive tour of the Castle Hill area and its beautiful buildings, the Fisherman’s Bastion, famous Matthias Church, the Heroes’ Square and Gellert Hill. This evening we dine in a local Csarda restaurant for a group welcome dinner.

DAY 4 - WEDNESDAY 27 SEPTEMBER 2017
Budapest - Zagreb

Sit back and enjoy the views over the countryside as we travel south-west to the ‘Hungarian Sea’ and Europe’s largest body of fresh water, Lake Balaton. This afternoon we cross the border into Croatia and make our way to the capital, Zagreb.

DAY 5 - THURSDAY 28 SEPTEMBER 2017
Zagreb

We take a morning sightseeing tour of this fascinating city and its impressive 900-year-old Upper Town. We see the churches of St Mark’s and St Catherine’s and visit the Cathedral, the tallest building in Croatia. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the cobblestone streets at your own pace and admire its old-world graciousness and friendly, lively energy.

DAY 6 - FRIDAY 29 SEPTEMBER 2017
Zagreb - Sarajevo

Today we cross the border into Bosnia & Herzegovina and make our way to the historic capital, Sarajevo. A cosmopolitan city full of history and a Turkish heritage, it is often called the ‘Jerusalem of Europe’. Here we enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of the four quarters.

DAY 7 - SATURDAY 30 SEPTEMBER 2017
Sarajevo - Dubrovnik

We venture south to Mostar, where its famous Ottoman Bridge, bustling gold alley and numerous mill house restaurants lining the banks of the river set an enchanting scene. Later this afternoon we continue to beautiful Dubrovnik, set against a backdrop of the shimmering Adriatic Ocean.

DAY 8 – SUNDAY 1 OCTOBER 2017
Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is one of the most photographed towns in the Mediterranean. This morning we enjoy a walking tour of this historic walled city. Sights will include the Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column, Rector’s Palace and the Franciscan Monastery. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace.

DAY 9 - MONDAY 2 OCTPBER 2017
Montenegro

We spend the day touring the tiny country of Montenegro. Admire the beauty of the Dalmatian coast as we drive along the rugged Bay of Kotor, dotted with charming little villages.

DAY 10 - TUESDAY 3 OCTOBER 2017
Dubrovnik - Split

We head north along the spectacular coast to Split. Enjoy the incredible scenery as we pass sheer cliff faces and bright turquoise waters. In Split, we tour the historic city centre, built around the remains of the world’s most impressive Roman monument – the Diocletian’s Palace.

DAY 11 - WEDNESDAY 4 OCTOBER 2017
Split - Trogir - Plitvice Lakes

Today we stop in the town of Trogir, where artists from around the world gather to paint. This afternoon we travel to stunning Plitvice Lakes National Park. These 16 terraced lakes are renowned for their distinctive colours, ranging from azure to green, grey and blue.

Special Experience: Stay overnight in the national park, only 400m from the highest waterfall.

DAY 12 - THURSDAY 5 OCTOBER 2017
Plitvice Lakes

This morning we explore the spectacular lower lake section on a guided walking tour that will showcase its magnificent turquoise lakes, waterfalls and cascades. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure for you to relax and enjoy the tranquillity.

DAY 13  FRIDAY 6 OCTOBER 2017
Plitvice Lakes - Opatija

We travel to the imperial resort town of Opatija. Famous for its grand spa hotels and superb location on the beautiful bay of Kvarner, it is often referred to as the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’. We’ll take an orientation tour on arrival to learn about its splendid past. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 14 - SATURDAY 7 OCTOBER 2017
Opatija

Enjoy a full-day excursion along the beautiful, heart-shaped Istrian Peninsula. Visit Eufrasius Basilica at the ancient Roman town of Porec, the Roman Amphitheatre in Pula and the charming fishing port of Rovinj.

DAY 15 - SUNDAY 8 OCTOBER 2017
Opatija - Bled

Today we visit the incredible Postojna Caves, with more than 20km of passages, galleries and chambers filled with two million year old stalagmite and stalactite formations. On the way to Bled we stop in Idrija, a mining town in the green hills of the Julian Alps that is also home to a lace-making tradition dating back more than 500 years. Here we’ll visit the Gewerkenegg Castle, built in the 1520s to serve as the headquarters for the mercury mine.

DAY 16 - MONDAY 9 OCTOBER 2017
Bled

The region around Bled is one of the most beautiful in Europe. Set amongst stunning mountain peaks and brimming with forests and greenery, waterfalls and streams, it is characterised by the iconic church steeple that perches atop a tiny island in the middle of the lake. Here we enjoy a wonderful sightseeing tour including a visit to Bled Castle, before we visit the lake valley of Bohinj.

Special Experience: Visit Bohinj Shepherd Museum and taste the locally produced cheeses.

DAY 17 - TUESDAY 10 OCTOBER 2017

Enjoy the morning at leisure before we depart for the picturesque Slovenian capital, Ljubljana. This beautiful city features a hilltop castle, emerald green river and a buzzing al fresco café culture.

Special Experience: See Ljubljana from a difference angle on a boat ride along the Ljubljanica River.

This evening we make our way to the ever-romantic city of Venice

DAY 18 - WEDNESDAY 11 OCTOBER 2017
Venice

A place like no other, a day exploring Venice will leave lasting memories. Today’s highlights include Piazza San Marco and the Basilica, the Doge’s Palace and the Bridge of Sighs. We’ll also witness magic in the hands of a master craftsman at a traditional glass blowing factory, watching as they create a work of art before our eyes. Tonight we enjoy a group farewell dinner.
