THE PACE  [3 out of 5]
To get the most from your tour you will need a good level of fitness and mobility and an open mind. Travelling through Africa is mainly done by road. A high percentage of roads are not sealed and most tracks within national parks are dirt roads. Some travel days are also very long. Per tour, you will find a list of the different vehicle types used. Most excursions are by 4WD so if you suffer from a back condition we highly recommend that you consult your doctor before booking. If you wear contact lenses we recommend bringing glasses as well, in case of irritation caused by dust.

You should be able to: walk at least 3.5km or 2-3 hours on uneven ground, without a walking aid; climb short, steep hills; be prepared to board small boats; and also carry your own bags as porter services may not always be available.

Passengers who are 70 and over will be required to obtain a doctor’s clearance before travelling.

It’s regular that our trips include welcome dinners and farewell dinners for our groups. In addition, we include other group dining experiences to ensure that everyone can enjoy the benefit of travelling and dining as a group.  There’s nothing better than to share a meal with new friends and discuss the day’s adventures.

Please be sure to advise us at the time of booking of any special dietary requirements. We always do our best to accommodate special diet needs and in most cases, special dietary needs can be met. However, in some destinations the variety of choice for certain special diets may be limited. If you are concerned please check with us before you book.

This is a private group tour with a local guide and driver and Egyptologist guides in Egypt. Your tour guide/s are there to assist with group arrangements and to act as the liaison for all tour services.

Because of the limited storage space in light aircraft and safari vehicles in Africa, please note the following luggage restrictions for this tour.

  • A soft bag is required
  • There is a maximum weight of 15kg per person

Some of the hotels throughout your stay will offer wifi, however when in more remote parts, the service may be limited or not available.
