THE PACE  [3 out of 5]
There is a mix of days between leisurely days and other days that require long periods on foot, standing, walking and climbing stairs. Many of the sights require walks of up to 15 minutes to reach the landmarks from the drop off point.

This tour is not suitable for anyone not able to stand and walk for long periods and/or unable to climb stairs without assistance, or find climbing stairs challenging. You need an average level of fitness (or above) to be suited to this tour.

Fit to Travel Holiday Requirements
Travellers of 70 years or over will be required to return a Fit to Travel form
that is completed by their doctor.

Touring Physical Requirements
Touring is exciting and diverse and the best way to enjoy your travels is to be sure that you meet the minimum physical requirements required for touring.

In many destinations while touring could be walking on uneven surfaces such as cobble stoned streets, need to climb steep staircases, and/or walk up hills to reach attractions. Also, in some cities tourist transport has limited options for coach drop offs and pick ups and this may mean that travellers are required to walk some distance to reach attractions or hotels, even up to 15 minutes.

Some touring may not be suitable for travellers with mobility issues and/or low fitness levels.  If unsure about your suitability for the trip please contact us to seek further advice.

If it’s other tour operators then use this content and add to this section here.

ABOUT THE MEALS
The itinerary for China is inclusive of many meals. The hotel breakfasts will generally have Chinese and Asian breakfast choices and some Western food choices.

For lunches and dinners meals are Chinese cuisine. You may find you will eat Chinese dishes you’ve not had before at home. We have aimed to offer a variety of the Chinese cuisine and offer local / regional dishes.  Chinese cuisine uses many spices but this does not mean that it’s always with chili. Garlic and onion is commonplace in many dishes. In the region of Xi’an food is renowned for the use of more chili. The Sichuan style of cooking is common and it’s very fragrant and could be considered as having a ‘spicy bite’ to it. Your guide will order a mix of dishes and meals are enjoyed family-style, that is shared.

A vegetarian diet may have less variety of choice than in comparison to western cuisine. It’s also important to explain vegetarian diet needs or other special diet needs in advance to your tour guide.

It’s common place to use chopsticks to eat your meal and to serve yourself from the shared dishes. We recommend that you don’t use your own chopsticks to serve food from the shared plates but instead use chopsticks or a spoon set aside for this.

Please be sure to advise us at the time of booking of any special dietary requirements. We always do our best to accommodate special diet needs and in most cases, special dietary needs can be met. However, in some destinations the variety of choice for certain special diets may be limited and can be more challenging to accommodate more complex requests in China. If you are concerned please check with us before you book.

GROUP TOUR GUIDE
This is a private tour with a tour guide that escorts the group for the duration of the tour. Your tour guide is there to assist with group arrangements and to act as the liaison for all tour services.

LUGGAGE INFORMATION AND RESTRICTIONS
Luggage must be kept to a maximum of 20kg on the Chinese domestic flight/s, train travel and Yangtze River cruise.  Please refer to your international airfare for luggage restrictions.

ABOUT MOBILE PHONE USE / INTERNET
Wifi is readily available at most hotels in China.  In some of the more regional areas, wifi may not be as accessible. We recommend you contact your phone provider about International Roaming packages/offers for your mobile phone.  Facebook and other social media sites are blocked in China.  International roaming packages may be an option to avoid these blocks.
