This evening, enjoy a three course group welcome dinner at the hotel restaurant. Your Coach Captain will join the group for the evening meal.
Adelaide to Kangaroo Island
There’s a lot to enjoy today and we start off early, in order to transfer to our departure point, Cape Jervis, to meet our ferry to Kangaroo Island.
We board SeaLink’s luxury ocean going ferry the Sealion 2000 (check-in 30 minutes prior) for the 45-minute crossing to Kangaroo Island.
There’s a fabulous day of touring once we arrive to Kangaroo Island.
Highlights today include:
- a visit to the historicPenneshaw Maritime & Folklore Museum
- wine tasting and lunch at Dudley Wines
- Cape Willoughby Light House for a photo opportunity
Today, we enjoy lunch at Dudley Wines. Dudley Wines is a family owned and run business on Kangaroo Island, with around 20 acres of various varieties in their two vineyards on the Dudley Peninsula, producing a 100% Kangaroo Island product. All their wine is grown and handcrafted on the island, by fifth generation Islander, Brodie Howard.
This afternoon we drive to Cape Willoughby, the first lighthouse built in SA in 1852 before our visit to see prominent local art works and crafts at the Kangaroo Island Artworks Gallery at Baudin Beach.
We return to our hotel at the end of day, and this evening there’s a two course dinner for the group at our hotel.

Today, there will be the contrast of Kelly Hill Caves, an impressive limestone cave system. There’s a guided tour, experiencing the splendour of the Show Cave Tour, admiring the stalactite and stalagmite formations.
We will then take a leisurely stroll along the famous Koala Walk at Hanson Bay Sanctuary and observe the amazing and beautiful Koalas relaxing in the avenue of shady Eucalyptus trees. The Hanson Bay Sanctuary is the best place on Kangaroo Island to see a sustainable population of Koalas in the wild. You can expect to see between fifteen to twenty Koalas to at any one time.
Tip: Take your camera, water bottle and binoculars.
Travel to the natural rugged beauty of Flinders Chase National Park. Enjoy breathtaking views of Yacca Flat and coastal scenery on your way to spectacular Remarkable Rocks. Take a walk around these huge rocks, which have been carved into many different weird and wonderful shapes by the wind and the ocean spray over many centuries.
We travel onto the natural land bridge that is Admirals Arch where to look out for the New Zealand fur seals frolicking in the water and on the rocks, under the arch.
This afternoon, visit the Islander Estate and enjoy a wine tasting in their intimate tasting space which offers guided tastings along with outdoor decks and lawns with rural outlooks.
We return to the hotel later in the afternoon for some time at leisure, and then come together for a relaxed group dinner at our hotel.

After breakfast, we travel to famous Seal Bay for a stroll through a wild seal colony that is home to around 600 rare Australian Sea Lions. We then enjoy an amazing interactive, educational and highly entertaining display at the ‘Raptor Domain, Birds of Prey’ show.
Enjoy lunch at a local café and then visit Kangaroo Island Spirits for a tasting which will include three special tastings. We will also learn of how Jon and Sarah Lark set up to establish Australia’s first dedicated gin distillery.
Our final visit today is to The Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery, now the only Eucalyptus Oil distillery in South Australia manufacturing 100% pure Australian Eucalyptus Oil.

Kangaroo Island – Victor Harbor - Adelaide
After breakfast, we depart Kingscote for our scenic drive to Penneshaw to depart on the Sealink Ferry to Cape Jervis for the 45 minute journey, arriving to the mainland before 11:30am.
Upon arrival at Cape Jervis we will tour the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula visiting Horseshoe Bay lookout to see spectacular views over the bay and some free time to explore Victor Harbour and to pick a spot for a lunch break.
Visit Mclaren Vale for some free time to visit the Almond Train, Menz Fruit Choc Factory and Hardy’s Tintara Winery.
We return to Adelaide later in the afternoon for an overnight stay.
From Adelaide, your coach captain for the day will meet you at the group hotel, to then set off in the morning and enjoy a tour to South Australia’s premium wine region, The Barossa Valley.
The day is dedicated to discovering the Barossa Valley’s highlights and includes:
- a visit to Maggie Beer's Farm Shop; an absolute must whilst in the Barossa Valley.
- sampling of the Barossa’s finest wines and gourmet food that makes this wine region so special, including a platter lunch at a winery.
The tour focuses on three different wineries, visiting Saltram Wines, Lambert Estate where we also stop for a winery platter lunch and TeAro Estate.
There will also be a stop at Mengler’s Hill for a photo opportunity at one of the most popular lookouts in Barossa Valley.
The evening is at your leisure. Why not enjoy pre-dinner drinks at the hotel bar and then head out to dinner together (at your own expense). The nearby Rundle Mall is a popular strip for restaurants, or dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.

It’s departure day. Check out is required by 11am. If you are spending more time in Adelaide, the hotel will store your luggage until you need to leave that day and you can depart at leisure.
