Solos Only

The Tasman Peninsula already offers some of the most exciting adventures in Tasmania and now it has another spectacular new one. The Three Capes area in the Tasman National Park is a stunning addition to the Tasmanian ‘must‑do’ list. The impressive coastal sea cliffs found along the walk provide a permanent air of drama as you explore the peninsula over three days, including visits to Cape Raoul and Cape Hauy.

This trip has some of the greatest day walks on the Island, such as the stunning Cape Raoul, a full day walk exploring a coast of 400 metre sea cliffs, polygonal dolerite columns, and one of the world’s most famous big wave surf breaks, Shipsterns Bluff.

A Visit to Port Arthur
The Tasman Peninsula also offers World Heritage historic sites in the Port Arthur Penal Settlement, and your visit includes a fully guided tour of the site.

A Highlight Eco Adventure Cruise
You’ll have a lot of fun on the included eco-adventure cruise; a jet boat powered and world class Tasman Island wilderness cruise.

Join small group walking at its best – just for solo travellers.

The Tassie trip was brilliant, the guides were friendly and informative, we feasted on local produce and Tasmania's Bay of Fires and Blue Tier regions was majestic.

This absolute waterfront, historic guest house and bed and breakfast is centrally located between Eaglehawk Neck and Port Arthur on the Tasman Peninsula and overlooks the sheltered waters of Little Norfolk Bay. If this trip seems right for you then we encourage you to book early and secure your place with a deposit.  As a small group tour, space is limited. To ensure your place, please check trip availability at your earliest convenience.

This tour is exclusively for solo travellers.  The age range is 40 years and over. This is small group tour with a maximum group size of 12 travellers. The tour is led by a professional ranger guide.

It’s most likely to depart with a group of 10 to 14 passengers.

Basically any fit and healthy person can participate. Most days are walking around 12-14 kilometres in distance.

If you can walk upwards of 14 kilometres or more in a day, carrying a lightweight day pack you will find the walking activity totally achievable. The minimum requirements to participate are being able to carry a 5 kilogram backpack (that holds your lunch, water, camera, rain jacket plus a few other personal effects).

You also need to be aware that while we typically walk on well forged walking tracks, the quality and the degree of difficulty on these tracks varies a lot. You may find the tracks rocky and “lumpy” underfoot, soft and sandy or muddy and slippery. The prevailing weather can make a track that is typically dry and firm wet and muddy.

You will also, at times, find there is the need to be able to negotiate obstacles such as fallen trees, or sections of scree, or steep steps. None of these would be enough to preclude a healthy and able-bodied individual but they can challenge. So please come along with not only the right footwear and raingear and clothing, but also the right frame of mind.

It’s regular that our trips include welcome dinners and farewell dinners for our groups. In addition, we include other group dining experiences to ensure that everyone can enjoy the benefit of travelling and dining as a group.  There’s nothing better than to share a meal with new friends and discuss the day’s adventures.

Please be sure to advise us at the time of booking of any special dietary requirements. We always do our best to accommodate special diet needs and in most cases, special dietary needs can be met. However, in some destinations the variety of choice for certain special diets may be limited. If you are concerned please check with us before you book.

Transport is by private minibus.

This is a private group tour with professional wilderness guide. Your guide is there to assist with group arrangements and to act as the liaison for all tour services.

Visitors who are with Telstra will get some reception on the Tasman Peninsular some of the other areas during the walk, so you can receive text messages, check emails and make phone calls at least once a day. Anyone who is on a network other than Telstra is unlikely to get any phone reception.  You can pick up a Telstra sim card at your local Officeworks and other retailers, then top up as little as $10 so you have some mobile phone reception when visit Tasmania.

This was my second holiday with your company. Asia- Phuket was never a location I ever thought I would visit. Maybe it was the anxiety of traveling alone to Asia. The host (Justine) made me feel at ease, and there was always a new friend to share new exciting places with or just spending time alone. I wonder now what all the fuss was about. Looking forward to the next trip your organisation. Thank you to all the team cheers Susan
