Washington, DC - Williamsburg 

On our way to Williamsburg today we’ll stop at the house of America’s first president and the capital’s namesake, George Washington, in Mount Vernon. We’ll also take a tour of Jamestown’s historical sights and learn more about Pocohontas at the Visitor Centre.

Colonial Williamsburg is considered the world’s largest living museum, with over 40 sites and trades, two world-class museums and four historic taverns. After a short orientation, you’ll be able to see as much of Colonial Williamsburg as you can fit into the rest of the day at your own pace.

Williamsburg - Harpers Ferry 

This morning we set out for Harpers Ferry, a quaint and historic community reminiscent of America’s past. Enjoy an evening at leisure to explore the town's picturesque streets.

Special Experience: En route to Harpers Ferry we’ll stop in Charlottesville to visit Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s primary plantation, before lunch at the historic Michie Tavern.

Harpers Ferry - Lancaster 

We’ll begin our day with a tour of the historic district in Harpers Ferry, which preserves around 100 historic buildings in what is essentially an intact 19th century town that played a pivotal role in the Civil War.

Visit the Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Centre to learn more about America’s Civil War, including a guided tour of the battlefield with a Civil War historian.

Lancaster, also known as Pennsylvania Dutch Country, is famed for its large Amish population. This morning we’ll take a tour of Amish country and learn more about their culture, traditions and history.

Lancaster - New York 

On our way to New York we’ll stop to see some of Philadelphia’s iconic sights, such as the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and other revolutionary monuments.

The huge, sprawling metropolis of New York is America’s epicentre of arts, entertainment and dining, and undoubtedly has something to offer everyone. We’re going to see some of the city’s highlights today, such as the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Times Square, the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Centre and Fifth Avenue.

New York - Newport

Today we depart for Newport, Rhode Island, with a stop in Hartford for a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the home of Mark Twain, the accomplished author behind works such as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Roughing It and The Gilded Age.

Newport, home to breathtaking views and historic mansions. Our morning tour will see us cruising down Ocean Drive and Millionaire’s Row to see the opulent ‘summer cottages’ of the Gilded Age. We’ll even have the opportunity to tour a few of the mansions, including the Breakers, home of the Vanderbilt family.

DAY 14
Newport - Plymouth 

After breakfast we’ll continue our drive along the Cape Cod national seashore, stopping at the ‘elbow’ to see Chatham Lighthouse. We’ll also spend some time in the coastal artisan colony of Provincetown, known for its eclectic and flamboyant culture, beautiful beaches and brilliant art galleries.

DAY 15

Special Experience: Board a ferry to Martha’s Vineyard, an island south of Cape Cod. Take in the breathtaking scenery on a tour of the island, which will include the famous Gingerbread Houses in Oak Bluffs and stops along the African American Heritage Trail.

Plymouth - Boston 

We’ll be transported back in time as we explore the Plimoth Plantation today, a living museum that replicates the original settlement of the Plymouth Colony. We’ll also visit

Plymouth Rock, the traditional site of disembarkation of the founders of the Plymouth Colony.

DAY 17

Our tour today takes us along the path of the historical Freedom Trail, visiting sites of historical significance in the American Revolution. The trail connects 16 sites including Boston Common, the Old Granary Burying Ground, Quincy Market and Old North Church, each telling its own story. Tonight we'll enjoy a group dinner to farewell our amazing tour.

Early Check In
If your flight arrives well in advance of the hotel check in time, then we recommend travellers consider booking an additional night at the hotel the evening prior to guarantee a morning check-in. Early check in without payment can be requested, and is at the discretion of the hotel, but cannot be guaranteed.

Late Check Out
If your flight departs after the hotel check out time we recommend that you make an enquiry with us about securing a late check out with payment.  Some hotels will require payment in full of the next night of stay while others may have a rate for a late check out such as a payment to extend check out until 6pm as an example.

A moderate to faster pace. There are some days with early starts and full days of touring.  There are 2 and 3 nights of stay for this itinerary.

Travellers of 70 years or over will be required to return a Fit to Travel form that is completed by their doctor.

Fit to Travel Holiday Requirements:

A minimum level of fitness is required to be able to participate on a Bunnik Tour, you are required to at least:

  • Be able to walk 2-3 hours on uneven surfaces without the use of any walking aid
  • Walk up multiple flights of stairs and short, steep hills
  • Stand for 20 minutes without needing to sit down, often in hot/humid climates
  • Carry your own luggage
  • Get on and off various modes of transport without assistance, including small boats 

Passengers 70 years or over must provide a signed Fitness to Travel declaration form from their doctor within one month of making their booking. While we will still confirm your place on your tour, flight tickets cannot be issued until both completed forms have been received. Additional costs may be incurred if completed forms are not received by Bunnik Tours within these time frames.

Bunnik Tours generally does not accept bookings for single travellers 80 years of age and over without a travelling companion. Neither our Tour Director nor your fellow travellers are equipped to act as a carer.

Passengers must inform us and the service provider of any medical conditions which may affect your ability to participate in the tour.

At our discretion we, including the service provider, can exclude you in a tour or in any activity if we consider that you are unable to safely participate in that tour or activity or if we consider your participation may place the safety of other guests at risk.

We exclude all liability for any illness, injury or death sustained by you on tour because of any pre-existing medical condition. You release us from all liability arising out of your medical condition, illness, or injury that you may suffer during the tour or as a result of the tour. 

It’s regular that our trips include welcome dinners and farewell dinners for our groups. In addition, we include other group dining experiences to ensure that everyone can enjoy the benefit of travelling and dining as a group.  There’s nothing better than to share a meal with new friends and discuss the day’s adventures.

Please be sure to advise us at the time of booking of any special dietary requirements. We always do our best to accommodate special diet needs and in most cases, special dietary needs can be met. However, in some destinations the variety of choice for certain special diets may be limited. If you are concerned please check with us before you book.

This is a group tour with a coach driver and locally based English speaking guide. Your tour guide is there to assist with group arrangements and to act as the liaison for all tour services.

Coach, cable car and boat cruises 

Due to the handling of luggage on our tours and coaches, checked baggage is limited to 20kg and a minimum of hand luggage.

Wifi is readily available at all hotels.  Some hotels may charge for this service.

You may like to purchase a prepaid sim card to take with you while travelling. Otherwise, ask your phone provider about International Roaming packages/offers for your mobile phone. 

SIM cards or international roaming packages can be good options to keep in touch with friends and family back home.  Be sure the sim card you purchase will cover all the countries you are travelling to.
