DAY 1
Tashkent
Welcome to Central Asia and the start of your journey through iconic destinations in The 3 Stans; Uzbekistán, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
Around midday, meet up with other group members and your tour leader to go out for a traditional lunch. After lunch, visit Mustakillik (Independence) Square in the heart of Tashkent and the Tashkent Metro, decorated with local marble and granite – like an underground palace. See the central square Amir Timur Maydoni, dominated by a statue of Timur on horseback, and the Alisher Navoi Opera and Ballet Theatre.

DAY 2
Tashkent Sightseeing
This wonderful city is a real embodiment of modern elegance while retaining its oriental charm. Tashkent combines medieval buildings, elegant European architecture, Soviet-era concrete structures, and modern glass skyscrapers.
Begin the day with a visit to the sprawling, colourful Chor-Su Bazaar, one of the oldest markets in the region, located on the ancient Silk Road. Next, tour the historic Old Quarter, starting with Madrasah Kukeldash, built in 1570.

DAY 3
Train To Samarkand
We travel by fast train to Samarkand, one of Central Asia’s most significant historic cities and a key centre along the Silk Road.
On arrival, we begin exploring the city, with visits to Ulugbek Observatory, the Ruins of Afrosiab, and the Gur Emir Mausoleum. These sites offer an early insight into Samarkand’s long history and its importance as a cultural and scientific centre.

DAY 4
Exploring Samarkand
Today we explore Samarkand’s remarkable history, with a focus on some of its most significant sites. We begin with a visit to Shahi Zinda Necropolis and St Daniel Mausoleum, an important pilgrimage site. We then continue to the Registan Ensemble, the architectural centrepiece of Samarkand, before visiting Bibi Khanum Mosque and the Silk Bazaar.
These landmarks reflect the scale and ambition of Samarkand during its peak, and give a clearer sense of why it became one of the most important cities along the Silk Road.
In the evening, attend a show at “El Merosi,” the Theatre of Historical Costumes.

DAY 5
Konigil Village And Meros Paper Mill, Samarkand
Today we step just outside the city to Konigil Village, where traditional methods of producing Samarkand paper are still in use. At the Meros Paper Mill, we see the full process from start to finish, offering a glimpse into a craft that dates back centuries and remains largely unchanged. There is also a hands-on cooking experience where we learn to prepare local bread or somsa, a staple of the region.

DAY 6
Train To Bukhara
We continue by train to Bukhara, a city known for its remarkably preserved old town and Silk Road heritage.
On arrival, we begin exploring the historic centre, including the traditional trading domes and bazaar areas that once formed part of the Silk Road. These covered markets are still active today and give a sense of how trade once flowed through the city.
This evening, we enjoy dinner at a rooftop restaurant.
Encounter Moment: Arriving into a new city and stepping straight into its old town, where history isn’t something you visit, it’s something you walk through.

DAY 7
Bukhara Sightseeing
Today we continue exploring Bukhara, with a focus on its historic landmarks and architectural highlights.
We begin with a visit to the summer palace of the last Emir of Bukhara, Sitora-i-Mokhikhosa, known for its blend of European, Russian and Oriental design.
Back in the old town, we explore key sites including the Kosh Madrassah Ensemble, Ulugbek Madrassah, Magak-i Attari Mosque, Chor Minor, and the Lyabi Khauz Ensemble, one of the most recognisable and lively areas of the city.
In the evening, we enjoy a local dinner followed by a folk performance at Nadir-Divanbegi Madrassah.

DAY 8
Bukhara To Tashkent
Enjoy a free morning in Bukhara with time for shopping and to soak up the atmosphere of this wonderful Old Town. Before our train back to Tashkkent we visit a local teahouse and taste about 4-5 different teas. During the service, the host explains about tea brewing and also offers small sweets to take with the tea. In the afternoon, take the train back to Tashkent.

DAY 9
Tashkent And Flight To Bishkek
Visit the Museum of Applied Arts in the morning before flying to Bishkek. Bishkek is a capital and the largest city in Kyrgyzstan, located at the foothill of magnificent Kyrgyz Ala-Tau mountain range. Bishkek offers the ideal opportunity for a Russian meal and tonight we do just – going out to experience another type of cuisine in Central Asia.

DAY 10
Bishkek Sightseeing
The city is believed to be the greenest in Central Asia with more trees per head of population than any other. We explore Bishkek, a city known for its green parks and Soviet-style architecture. Visit the Osh Bazaar, Historical Museum, Museum of Applied Arts, and Ala-Too Square.

DAY 11
Bishkek to Chon-Kemin Gorge
Travel to Chon-Kemin Gorge and on our way we stop of a light lunch with a local family.
We visit Burana Tower, a museum complex with reconstructions of mausoleums, petroglyphs, and a collection of balbals (grave stones). Chon Kemin is quiet valley with several small villages and farmers’ lands surrounded by magnificent mountains and forest. It is just a wonderful place to be - to sit on the doorstep and watch time pass by with a tea.

DAY 12
Southern Shore Of Issyk-Kul Lake
We continue through rural landscapes towards the southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake.
On arrival, we visit Bokonbaevo village where we experience a traditional eagle hunting demonstration, an important part of Kyrgyz nomadic heritage. This long-standing practice reflects the close relationship between people, animals and the land, and offers a unique insight into local traditions that are still preserved today. We also visit a felt workshop to see how traditional Kyrgyz rugs are made, before continuing to our yurt camp by the lake.
Tonight, we stay in a traditional yurt, offering a different style of accommodation in a peaceful natural setting.

Yurt Camp To Karakol
Explore Karakol, including Old Russian Style houses, the Russian Orthodox Church, and the Dungan Mosque. Today we take a cooking class and learn to make the local pasta noodle, Laghman with a local family.

DAY 14
Transfer To Almaty
Cross the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border and visit Charyn Canyon, a stunning natural monument. Theres a relaxed pace at the canyon and this is where we take lunch together. There's is the ideal interlude for this longer day of road travel Continue to Almaty for free time in the evening.

Almaty City Sightseeing
Once the capital and still Kazakhstan’s largest city, Almaty remains a vibrant cultural and business hub. Today’s city tour includes:
• 28 Panfilov Guardsmen Park
• Zenkov Cathedral – a striking wooden Russian Orthodox church
• Republic Square – the city’s central civic space
Ride the cable car up Kok-Tobe for sweeping views of the city and mountains. Stop in at Rahat Chocolate Shop. It’s a beloved Kyrgyz brand known for its sweet treats and Central Asian flavours.
In the evening, we gather for our farewell dinner.
