At the forefront of Encounter Travel are our Travel Consultants, Cathy, Sue, Liza and Chelsea. They are the first people you connect with, bringing more than 100 years of combined travel industry experience and a genuine understanding of what it means to travel solo, without feeling alone. From your first enquiry through to departure, they are your guides, your sounding board and your steady point of contact.

Supporting them is our dedicated Travel Support team, Rhian, Theresa and Maeleen. They provide essential day-to-day administrative support, managing the heavy workload that sits behind every enquiry, booking and tour. Their role keeps the workflow moving smoothly and efficiently, allowing our Travel Consultants to focus on guiding travellers and bringing each trip together with care and expertise.

Behind the scenes, our Groups Administration team take care of the many moving parts involved in delivering our small group holidays. It’s no easy feat, but it’s one they approach with care, pride and a genuine commitment to delivering the best possible experience for every traveller.

There’s also a wider circle of support you may never meet, but who play an important role in who we are and how we operate. Our accountant, bookkeepers, website developer, HR specialists and consultants all help keep Encounter Travel running smoothly, compliant and continually improving, so we can stay focused on creating exceptional travel experiences.

And leading it all is Justine Waddington, founder of Encounter Travel. Passionately driven and deeply connected to the world of solo travel, Justine has more than 30 years of solo travel experience and has visited over 70 countries. Back in 2006, she recognised a gap in the market for solo travellers who didn’t want to travel alone, and Encounter Travel was born. We’ve never looked back.

Together, we’re a team that genuinely loves what we do, and it shows in the care, experience and connection we bring to every journey.
