Lakes, castles and mountain railways, at an easy pace that leaves room to take it all in. We will begin in Geneva, then head to Montreux for an overnight stay including a visit to Chillon Castle on Lake Geneva. From Montreux, we travel by rail to Interlaken by Goldenpass Express in first class. We also spend a day in the beautiful Lauterbrunnen Valley of the Swiss Alps. The tour finishes in Basel, connecting with your cruise embarkation 15 October 2027.

Basel, Switzerland (Embark)
Arrive at EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg. If you've arranged a group or private arrival transfer, you'll be met and transferred to the ship.

DAY 2
Basel (Lucerne)
Basel sits at the meeting point of France, Germany and Switzerland, with an Old Town as charming as any in Europe and the Black Forest and Jura Mountains as a backdrop. Choose to explore Basel on foot with a local guide, or head further into Switzerland to Mount Rigi and Lucerne.

- Basel Walking Tour with Local Treats: a ferry crossing of the Rhine to Kleinbasel, a walk along the Rhine promenade, and a stop at Basel Münster for panoramic views over the city. Finishes with a wander through cobbled streets tasting regional treats along the way.
- Hike the Swiss Alps with Picnic Lunch: a train up Mount Rigi, known as the "Queen of the Mountains", followed by a scenic hike with a picnic lunch, then a cruise across Lake Lucerne on the way back down.
- Lucerne Walking Tour: a guided walk through Lucerne's old town, taking in the KKL Culture and Convention Centre and the famous Chapel Bridge.
DAY 3
Strasbourg, France (Baden-Baden)
Strasbourg blends French and German history and culture in equal measure, with cobbled lanes, half-timbered homes and stork nests through the old town. Choose a walking tour of Strasbourg, or a day trip to the spa town of Baden-Baden.

- Baden-Baden City Tour with Casino: a walking tour past the town's thermal baths and the Fettquelle public thermal fountain, followed by a tour through Casino Baden-Baden, including its historic gambling halls dating back to 1855.
- Strasbourg Walking Tour with Cathedral Visit: a guided walk through Strasbourg's old town to the Cathedral, a striking example of French Gothic architecture, then on to the half-timbered lanes of La Petite France, with free time to explore, eat or shop.
DAY 4
Speyer (Mannheim)
Speyer's Old Town is dominated by the four red towers of its Romanesque cathedral, the largest of its kind in the world. The city also sits near the Pfalz wine route, one of Germany's best-known wine regions.

- Private Doktorenhof Vinegar Estate Visit and Tasting: a visit to a family-run estate in the Palatinate wine region for a tasting of vinegars made from premium wines, including Gewürztraminer, Sylvaner, Riesling and Pinot Noir. Time to browse the estate's gift shop is included. This experience supports Global Goal 12, Responsible Consumption and Production, as part of Uniworld's Make Travel Matter program. If this day falls on a Sunday, when the estate is closed, an alternative tour will be offered.
- Secret Garden & Collections: a private tour of a converted flour mill in the forest, now a small sanctuary filled with the owner's travel collections, alongside a bread tasting and a look through the estate's garden.
DAY 5
Rüdesheim, Boppard
Rüdesheim dates back to Roman times and is known for its beauty and its lively lane of shops and wine bars, the Drosselgasse. Nearby Boppard offers a quieter, village-paced stop along the Rhine.

- Boppard Village Stroll: led by your Cruise Manager, with the choice to take a chairlift up the hill for valley views (with the option to hike back down), enjoy a glass of wine at a local tavern, cycle the Rhine promenade, visit Saint Severus Church or the remains of a fourth-century Roman fort, or browse the Museum Boppard's exhibit on bentwood furniture pioneer Michael Thonet.
- Rheinweinwelten Visit: a self-paced wine tasting at Rüdesheim's Rheinweinwelten, with 14 wine caves and 160 wines to explore using 10 tasting tokens.
- The Rüdesheim Mini Train: a train ride through Rüdesheim past the Drosselgasse and other landmarks, with free time to explore afterwards.
DAY 6
Koblenz
Sail past the Deutsches Eck, where the Moselle meets the Rhine, marked by its monument to Kaiser Wilhelm I. Koblenz's Old Town mixes baroque architecture with centuries of history.

DAY 7
Zell
Sail into Zell for one of the Rhine's more striking views, a single vineyard-covered hill rising from a sharp bend in the river, with the village of Zell wrapped around its base.

Bernkastel
Bernkastel sits in the heart of the Moselle Valley, with scenic streets, taverns and vineyards, plus the Graach Gate, the last remaining town gate of Bernkastel-Kues, now a local history museum.

Cochem
Cochem is one of the Moselle's most colourful towns, its pastel buildings lining the riverbank beneath Cochem Castle, perched high on the cliff above.

Roermond
Roermond's historic district, in the Dutch province of Limburg, is largely free to explore and easy to see in a day.

Maastricht, Netherlands
