This tour is the day after The Ghan arrives to Adelaide. To join this tour you need to book a night of stay on the day you arrive to Adelaide (disembark the train) as this tour is the next day after the train arrival.

OVERVIEW
Journey just one hour north of Adelaide into the heart of the Barossa Valley, one of the world’s most celebrated wine regions. This small-group boutique experience, limited to just eight guests, is designed to be relaxed and unhurried, allowing you to truly savour the wines, stories, and landscapes that define the Barossa. 

• Your day begins with tastings at Kies Family Wines, where generations of winemaking heritage are reflected in their warm hospitality and expressive wines.

• Continue to Corryton Burge, a historic Barossa estate known for elegant Shiraz and classic regional styles, before travelling deeper into the valley to explore its iconic vineyards and rolling countryside.

• A leisurely two-course lunch with a glass of wine at Wanera Wine Bar offers the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the Barossa’s renowned food and wine culture.

• In the afternoon, visit the grand Chateau Tanunda, where you’ll taste award-winning wines surrounded by one of the region’s most impressive historic estates.
  
  
• Visit Australia’s favourite foodie destination, Maggie Beer’s Farm-shop. Browse the gourmet produce, or capture a photo in Maggie’s kitchen before heading back to Adelaide. On some days, this stop may be substituted with a visit to Melba’s Chocolate Shop.

  Cellar Doors may include: Chateau Yaldara, Kies Family Wines, Langmeil Winery, Murray Street Vineyards, Seabrook, Chateau Dorrien, Rockfords or Maggie Beers Farm Shop  Subject on change – depending on availability on the day- please advise when booking if you wish to visit a particular winery.

This is a shared departure; there may be other passengers that are not Encounter Travel passengers. If we have enough interest this may change to a private group for Encounter Travel. All Small Group Tours are guaranteed to depart with a minimum of 2 people, maximum 10 people.

All bookings are subject to availability at time of booking. This tour is operated by a Third Party and subject to their booking terms and conditions and cancellation penalties apply in addition to our cancellation service fees.

In the event that a booking is cancelled the following fees will apply:

• Cancellation more than 3 days before departure – $10 per person.
• Cancellation less than 3 days before departure – no refund
