DAY 1
Marsaxlokk & Ancient Malta
Welcome to Malta. This morning is at leisure before we meet our guide and fellow travellers around lunchtime.
Our first afternoon introduces us to the colourful fishing village of Marsaxlokk. The bright painted fishing boats known as luzzus line the harbour and create one of Malta's most recognisable postcard scenes. We enjoy a welcome lunch together overlooking the waterfront before continuing to one of Malta's most significant archaeological treasures.
This afternoon we visit Ħaġar Qim, one of Malta's UNESCO World Heritage-listed megalithic temples. Dating back more than 5,000 years, the site stands dramatically on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean and provides a fascinating introduction to Malta's ancient past.
After our touring, we return to our hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure.

Valletta is often described as an open-air museum. Built by the Knights of St John during the 16th century, its grand architecture, historic streets and impressive fortifications reveal centuries of fascinating history. We visit the Upper Barrakka Gardens for sweeping views across the Grand Harbour before exploring the magnificent St John's Co-Cathedral.
Following lunch together, we continue to the Three Cities - Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua. These historic fortified cities played a vital role in Malta's maritime and military history and offer a more intimate glimpse into local life away from Valletta's bustling streets.
