'I booked the 18-day Colours of Morocco 40+ solo tour. It was my first overseas trip as a solo traveller and it has given me confidence to do it again. The company was prompt and efficient providing information before and during the booking period. There was sufficient information provided. The tour guide was knowledgeable and very helpful and obliging. The itinerary was good with some faster paced days and some more at leisure. I would use Encounter Travel again.'

From riding camels across the Sarah Desert, experiencing a Hammom in a Moroccan Bath House, touring through ancient cities full of colour and wonderment, enjoying one of the delicious Tagines they prepare or just walking through the many markets tasting the fruits, olives and just baked bread.'

Loved my Croatia trip with Encounter. So much culture, history and variety in this tour. Our tour guide Ales and our driver were awesome. As a solo you will meet other like-minded people. It was one of my favourite trips - ever!

First time traveller to Eastern Europe and what a lovely surprise it was. .....picture postcard moments at every place we visited. If you have never been to Eastern Europe then would recommend this tour as a great introduction to the wonders of the East.

The Croatia tour is one of the best tours I have been on. Not only is the scenery absolutely beautiful but the small group I travelled with were 20 wonderful people. The tour director was the best ever too. Had a fab time. Loved every minute.

'I guess I loved all the countries visited, not just Croatia. loved Slovenia, Montenegro, and Bosnia as well. All outstanding. Every stop provided another surprise and a unique experience so it’s hard to separate out a highlight. I learnt so much in Sarajevo, loved the sheer beauty in Bled, enjoyed the old town in Hvar, Split, Zargreb and Dubrovnik. Had a sensational swim in the Adriatic and so on. Still, Sarajevo was probably a highlight as I learnt so much and because of the unique culture and great diversity.'

Being with a great bunch of people from breakfast to bedtime; experiencing the beautiful midnight sunset over a loch on the Isle of Skye; taking a trip down memory lane on a steam train with a special friend; finding a hidden gem at a sparkling lake in Connemarra; drinking guinness with friends on a ferry to Ireland; enjoying laughter and fun at a Scottish show; pondering on a battlefield in Scotland; getting soaked in the rain on a magnificent lake in Windemere; hanging upside-down kissing the Blarney stone; wonderstruck by awe inspiring worn stone steps; praying at a cathedral in Liverpool; finding my heritage in Britain's rich history.'

'I was very nervous as this was my first solo tour & my first time to the UK. I was put to ease at the pre dinner welcome drinks upon meeting my fellow travellers,tour director & coach driver. I had the time of my life & was kept on the go all the time. The knowledge the Tour Director gave prior to & at the destination was invaluable & increased the overall experience. I would recommend a solo tour to anybody considering one. I have made some life long friends along the way. So get out there and do it!'
