Fremantle – Busselton – Bunker Bay (Margaret River North)

We have a full day of exploring ahead, first making out way to Busselton; about two and half hours driving time to reach the location of the renowned Busselton Jetty and the gateway to Margaret River. The jetty is the longest timber piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. A stroll along the jetty is a must and there’s plenty of options to enjoy lunch at leisure in Busselton today. You may also like to take the time to make a visit to the Interpretive Centre at the jetty which includes a museum covering the jetty’s history.

Next stop; Ngili Cave for a guided tour. The cave is an exquisite underground wonderland with stunning stalactites, stalagmites and more and for this reason a popular visit for any visitor to the region. Enjoy the stories of early exploration on the tour and free time to explore her beauty.

Margaret River (North)

We focus on exploring the northern region of Margaret River today, with ‘foodie and wine’ highlights including a visit to a local boutique chocolate company, and an experience at Bettenay’s Margaret River Nougat Company. It’s something a little different as we take Bettenay’s nougat and wine pairing experience while enjoying stunning views of the vineyard and lake as a backdrop.

From wine and nougat tasting onto our lunch stop at a local brewery. Why not opt to sample their brews with their paddle boards. After our relaxed lunch in Margaret River we return to our hotel. evening at your leisure.

The centre is home to one of the largest collections of eagles, hawks, falcons and owls in Australia. From here we take a scenic drive of Boranup Karri Forest to see the towering karri trees, some over sixty metres tall, and during spring this is where wildflowers can be abundant.

We head south via Augusta to The Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse for a guided tour, and of course admire the spectacular surrounds of this stunning coastal region. For one of Australia’s more remote towns Albany has an impressive history and is near to Castle Rock and the Granite Skywalk.

On offer this morning is a drive out to Porongurup National Park to walk the Castle Rock Trail climbing through Jarrah, Marri and Karri Forest, finally reaching the base of Castle Rock. It’s from here you can take the steep climb, up a six metre ladder to take you to the Granite Skywalk; a structure that winds around the massive granite dome. The reward – a panoramic views of the countryside.

This afternoon, visit the National ANZAC Centre set within a 250-hectare parkland reserve in the heart of Albany.
