Russia

As a minimum, information is provided for Australian and New Zealand passport holders visiting the destination as a tourist (not business), and is subject to change without notice.  It's important to recheck the requirements prior to your departure.

If a visa is required for these passports you will be given information on how to apply for your visa around the time that final monies are due. We will be in touch with you by email.

Information on our website is checked a few times per year and as such may have changed since the publish date so should only be used as a guide and should not be deemed as final and accurate information. We put checks in place for each group departure and update travellers as required.

A pre-arranged visa for Australian passport holders is required for Russia. Visa fees and processing is by your own arrangement.

In order to obtain a visa a copy of your passport document page must be sent to us in advance of your application, so that we can arrange an invitation letter to Russia that’s required for your visa application. Full details will be sent in sufficient time prior to departure.

With regard to the visa for Russia, the consular fee is approximately AUD120 per visa plus any courier/postal fees that may be applicable depending on how they’re processed. Processing time is usually around two working weeks but you should allow for up to three working weeks in case of delay.

If obtaining two or more visas we recommend a visa processing service as they manage the process between embassies

WHEN A VISIT IS NOT REQUIRED - VISITS BY CRUISE SHIP TO ST PETERSBURG

Source: http://www.saint-petersburg.com/russian-visa/for-cruise-ship-passengers/

Cruise ship passengers visiting St. Petersburg - of which there are now almost half a million every year - do not need a Russian visa provided they are staying in the city for no longer than 72 hours. Therefore, if you book a cruise and St. Petersburg is one of the calls, you DO NOT NEED to get a Russian visa before you depart. However, travelling without a Russian visa does impose strict limitations on your time in St. Petersburg, so it's certainly worth considering the option of getting a Russian Travel Visa before you start your cruise.
